Hubba Hubba Catering Service Details

How is the cost of an event determined?

The total event cost is comprised of:

  • Agreed upon per guest food & beverage costs, multiplied by your guest count
  • Staffing, which is based on the duration of your event and actual staffing plans
  • A travel fee, if applicable
  • Room rental fee, if applicableThis subtotal is then subject to a 20% facilitation fee and 7% NC sales tax

What is the 20% Coordination fee?

The coordination fee covers a variety of work outside of the event itself, including coordination, calls & planning,
menu development, a site visit, and really anything else that comes up that might require our support. The hourly labor charges are strictly for the event itself, so this helps defer the cost of the time and care that goes into your event in the days, weeks and months prior.

How do I determine how much food I need?

Light Hors d’Oeuvres– Between 3 and 5 items, $12-$20 per guest
Heavy Hors d’Oeuvres– 6 items or more, $20-$35 per guest
Buffet Dinner– $18-$35 per guest (pricing based on sample buffet menus)
Plated Dinner– beginning at $20 per guest
Luncheon– $12-$18 per guest (pricing based on sample luncheon menus)
Traditional BBQ– $15-$18 per guest

Are kids’ meals free? Do we need to feed our photographer?

Kids three and under are on the house, while children ages four to 10 are half price. We’re happy to feed your photographer and any other vendors (band, wedding coordinator, etc.) at half price as well.

Do you offer desserts?

We have a limited dessert menu. However, we are happy to recommend some talented pastry chef’s to fulfill your needs. We will help serve dessert(s) you provide. Dessert service for a single item (e.g. a wedding cake) is $50 for up to 100 guests, $75 for 101-200 guests and $100 for 201 or more guests. Service of additional items— like a dessert/candy bar or a variety of homemade pies — is more involved and will be quoted once we know more about your plans.

Keep in mind additional rentals are also often required for dessert service, like plates, forks, napkins, platters or other staging pieces

Do you serve alcohol?

We have a license to serve beer and wine on our property only.

Service Staff

The number of service staff required for your event depends upon the number of guests, complexity of the menu, and type of function.

A plated, served dinner usually requires eight hours of labor, beginning at the time servers arrive at the restaurant to begin the “pull” for your event, and ending back at the restaurant when all of the equipment and service ware has been washed and put away. An average wedding, however, usually requires around ten hours of labor. Most receptions and simple buffets require between four and six hours.

In order to ensure quality of service, our server to guest ratios are as follows:

Buffet: 1:20-25 servers to guests
Plated Dinner: 1:15-20
Hors d’Oeuvres Reception: 1:25 for passed, 1:35 for stationary

The number of culinary staff required is dependent on the menu.

Rather than charge a flat rate gratuity, our clients are charged only for the labor they need. Our servers are hired at an hourly rate of pay of $25 per hour, per server and $28 per hour, per captain.

Do you offer rentals? Can you coordinate additional rentals?

We provide many buffet & staging items at no cost. We are constantly collecting new and unique items to give your event a special aesthetic. If tables are required for display of any food provided by Hubba Hubba then we have some available for rent.

Most clients will need to rent china, flatware, glassware and linens. Many venues also require tables, chairs, tenting & lighting.

Our preferred local vendors, Classic Event Rentals and Carolina Tent are local companies with lots of experience. For flowers, we love the creations of Flowers by Larry.
